Motorists are quite rightly concerned by the number of potholes in and around west Lancashire but there's a far larger transport problem LCC's being trying to get to grips with down the years - moss roads.

It's committed another £722,000 to repair them - a drop in the ocean given the problems they pose as QLocal Ormskirk reporter Roger Blaxall discovered recently on Wyke Lane, the moss road from Scarisbrick into Churchtown...

LCC has recently launched a revised Moss Road strategy - is it throwing good money after bad? Perhaps some moss roads users - and local farmers - might care to comment...

LCC prefers to “invest” in speed enforcement rather than repairing the roads, obviously a better return on investment.

If the poor surfaces keep motor-traffic away, all the better for the rest of us who use the routes.

I use Plex Moss Lane regularly.
It is almost undriveable now, but is great on a bike.
At the risk of sounding like PNP I say leave it as it is.
